The movie, ATTA GIRL, KELLY! follows the adventures of a rambunctious German shepherd being trained to become a Seeing Eye dog and how she changes the lives of three masters -- Danny, the boy who raises her; Matt, Kelly's trainer; and Evan Clayton, the blind owner who thinks she may never be good enough for him.

Homesick for Danny, Kelly keeps running away and there's doubt she'll ever be a dog guide. Will Kelly be able to fulfill her destiny? ATTA GIRL, KELLY! is an inspirational story that is sure to win your heart. Includes an all-new bonus special feature about The Seeing Eye, the world's oldest dog guide school and the inspiration behind the movie. ATTA GIRL, KELLY! first appeared as a three-part series on Disney's Wonderful World of Color in 1968.

Special Instructions

In October 2008, the buzz around The Seeing Eye campus almost equaled that of 1966 when Disney first sent a crew to film “Atta Girl, Kelly.” This time, Disney dispatched a film crew to create a short feature which appears on this newly released DVD version of the three-part series. Inspired by the story of Seeing Eye President and CEO Jim Kutsch, the Disney Company agreed to re-release the title in celebration of the school’s 80th Anniversary.

The DVD, released on Feb. 10, 2009, contains the special featurette that includes an interview with Kutsch. By juxtaposing scenes from the production against those filmed last fall, it draws a fascinating comparison of the school’s program today and in 1966.
