Description

This is a wonderful opportunity for siblings.  The winning bidder will receive a four week session of camp (June 21-July 22) from either Forest Acres (girls camp) or Indian Acres (boys camp) on the beautiful Saco River in Fryeburg, Maine, in the heart of the Mount Washington Valley, where the shore actually meets the mountains.  These camps are for boys and girls, ages 6-17.  If a single family would like to send siblings, you can bid on both camps (or send two siblings of the same gender to one camp).  This is for new families only.

TO BID ON BOTH/TWO CAMPS FOR SIBLINGS, WE WOULD DOUBLE THE COST OF YOUR BID ONCE THE AUCTION ENDS.

About Forest Acres & Indian Acres Camps:

Indian Acres Camp for Boys and Forest Acres Camp for Girls are located two miles apart.  They are the only camps to have 3 waterfronts.  A crystal clear, heated Olympic-style swimming pool that makes swimming warm and pleasant and provides unparelleled safety. The famous Saco River that overlooks the White Mountains.  Our lakefront facility hosts our renowned waterskiing program that allows campers the opportunity to ski for hours at a time and includes a water trampoline and beach volleyball. Established in 1924, these two ACA-accredited camps offer a flexible, challenging and fun summer in a sheltered valley of the beautiful White Mountains.

Our brother and sister camps allow the perfect balance between single-sex camping and a co-ed environment.

Set in a valley sheltered by the White Mountains and near 6,288-foot Mount Washington, the camps have large evergreen forests, grassy playing areas and sweeping views of the river and mountains.  Surrounded by rivers, lakes, and over 750,000 acres of national forests, Fryeburg has easy access to all of Maine and New Hampshire’s scenic wonders.  For more information go to www.indianacres.com.

Camp Philosophy:

Our philosophy encourages a supportive and cheerful atmosphere in which to have fun, develop friendships and learn a variety of skills and values.  A successful summer at camp is filled with many accomplishments both on and off the field. The key to our success is individual attention.  Forest and Indian Acres encourage as much independence as a child is capable of handling to achieve their goals.  Our program is structured so that all campers are active during each period, while also providing choices to meet personal needs.

Each day children can engage in a variety of activities such as tennis, basketball, baseball or softball, soccer, golf, drama, dance, gymnastics, volleyball, archery, swimming, and even horseback riding.  C.J. Law of Mount Holyoke directs the most outstanding equestrian program among camps in the state of Maine.  Her staff and horses from Mount Holyoke (2006 IHSA equestrian champions) provide a program offering lessons, shows, horsemanship and so much more.

In this special summer place, the campers of both Forest and Indian Acres thrive as they learn to grow, develop interests and skills, and make friendships that last a lifetime.  Most importantly, a successful summer for a child at our camps is about fun. It is also filled with accomplishments.
