Along with cabernet grapes from Star, Stagecoach and Atlas Peak vineyards, Macauley has created a blend that is wowing critics with its power and complexity. Robert Parker considers this vintage to be the best in the Macauley portfolio, saying it should be a 20-year wine for sure. Wine Spectator also raves about the wine but recommends drinking it even now, giving it a 93 rating and describing it as intense and concentrated, with a stylish mix of cedar, espresso, currant, blackberry, sandalwood and black licorice flavors.
