Special Instructions

Former college basketball star Doug Gottlieb is a college basketball analyst on ESPN television networks and is host of ESPN Radio’s The Doug Gottlieb Show, which debuted as The Pulse in December 2006. The Doug Gottlieb Showis heard nationally 4-7 p.m. ET Mondays-Fridays. He also writes a column for ESPN.com.


Gottlieb joined ESPN in September 2003 as co-host of ESPN Radio’s GameNight (weeknights, 7 p.m.-1 a.m.). He also has hosted Backstage at the ESPY Awards on ESPN Radio and was an analyst for the Great Outdoor Games.


Before joining ESPN, Gottlieb co-hosted a midday sports talk show at ESPN Radio affiliate WWLS-AM in Oklahoma City.


Before embarking on a career in sports casting, Gottlieb played point guard for Eddie Sutton and the Oklahoma State Cowboys, leading the nation in assists in 1999, and finishing second in 2000. He graduated in 2000 with a degree in marketing, holding every assist record at OSU and in the Big 12 Conference.


After graduating, Gottlieb played professionally in France, Russia and Israel, and in the USBL, CBA, ABA. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers’ summer team in 2001.  Gottlieb, a native of Orange County, Calif., has won an NEBL championship as well as a Russian Basketball Federation Championship.


Doug resides in Canton, and is married with three children. His twin daughters are in Kindergarten at Cherry Brook Elementary.
