My new album, "Disciplined Indulgence", autobiographical and personally self-indulging, features 16 beautifully haunting, timeless songs spanning four generations and written by some of our most iconic and enduring composers. True to my soul, at times, my playing style takes liberties with the music as it was originally written (hopefully not obscene liberties) because I always feel compelled to play a song the way my heart hears and feels it. Like "slubs" in beautiful fabric, my personal interpretations are intended to create beauty in the fabric of my music.
"Disciplined Indulgence," Purely Piano, includes melodies by some of my favorite songwriters such as Michael Legrand, Marvin Hamlisch, Charlie Chaplin, Kris Kristofferson, Edith Piaf, Johnny Mercer, Paul Williams, Henry Mancini, Dolly Parton, Don McLean, and Andrew Lloyd Weber.
Sit back, imagine blue hydrangeas or pink roses, indulge yourself with fine chocolates or a glass of wine and escape for a moment of "Disciplined Indulgence".
