Box Dog Bikes is a shop for those who love bikes and ride them for fun, competition, transportation, and adventure. We cater to everyday cyclists: commuters, couriers, racers, hobbyists, collectors, and enthusiasts.
At Box Dog Bikes, we aim to make your bike shop experience supportive and fun. We are as happy to refurbish and repair that old classic as we are to build up the dream bike you’ve always wanted. We are proud to take care of our customers with a positive and welcoming attitude.
Box Dog Bikes started in the fall of 2004 with a bunch of like minded individuals, a heap of used parts, and a corroding facility. Through our hard work and dedication we have turned Box Dog Bikes into a thriving local business. We are seven worker-owners strong, with a few supporting part-time folks. In this dynamic, democratic workplace, we strive to enliven the bike culture of San Francisco. We embrace our worker cooperative business structure in which we are supported and challenged to be creative.
A perfect example of this is our in-house-designed BDB Pelican frameset; realized through hard work and the desire to explore something new. That’s what we’re all about: discovering a bike’s potential and making it real. We hope to share our passion for bicycles with you when you visit our shop.
