Few activities promote the “unwavering belief” in oneself as effectively and efficiently as martial arts training can. In fact, in a study reported in Psychology Today (January 1985), Carleton University found that children in martial arts have: lower levels of anxiety, higher sense of self-esteem, an increased sense of responsibility, a decreased willingness to take foolish risks, and higher levels of social intelligence. Parents of martial arts trained kids also report: a decrease in shyness, better focus & concentration in school, and better physical fitness. Such are the results for kids in group classes. Master Alonzo spends time with each student as an opportunity to teach children how to respect one another, their parents and teachers, and most of all, themselves.
