This beautiful collaborative Ceramic Tile Mirror, which the Yellow Budgies and Yellow Ducks created, was inspired by an art lesson on drawing and painting sea animals during their Water Theme Unit Study.  

The children’s interest in sea animals was sparked by many lessons, which taught them a lot of facts on different underwater animals. This collaborative mirror project began with a particular art lesson that taught the children that shapes are all around us and if they observe and examine things carefully, they will find lots of shapes. The children learned that they can use these found shapes to help them draw and create everything, even sea animals.

The children then selected their own underwater animal and after observing and researching it, they drew and painted their individual sea creature on a ceramic tile.

This project helped the children develop self-confidence in their drawing and painting abilities. Its collaborative nature also encouraged teamwork.

Putting together these tiles made a vibrant frame to this mirror. We are extremely proud of all their individual creations and final collaborative product!
