Chris Triola is interested in three main areas of investigation... bold graphics, primal patterning, and subtle textures. It is a process of discovery and visual exploration. Triola approaches the textile tradition with a painter's eye - investigating all the elements of design in a wearable statement.

Triola first designs the fabric by combining selected elements from her original sketches into interesting patterns. Colors are custom-designed and yarn is dyed to her specifications. Fabric for all garments is knit in her studio using luxurious 100 percent supima cotton, preshrunk, and then individually hand finished. Garments are known for their comfort, wash-ability and longevity.

Chris Triola's life has always centered around the arts... from BA and MA degrees in art and art education from Michigan State University, through twenty years of teaching art at the high school level, and as a professional fiber artist since 1991. Painting and printmaking were the exclusive areas of exploration and expression during the artist's formative years, replaced by fiber for the last 20 years.
