The Orange Splot Art Spot is an affordable arts workshop that is not cut and paste and not anything traditional. It is a progressive, eco-aware, child-centered, Socratic and Constructivist-style, multisensory, hands-on, interactive art workshop for every artist at heart. It is an experience, a space, a safe place for creative risk takings, and a discovery lab where you will experiment and share ideas and explore unique techniques/materials. You, parents and children, are invited to also enjoy, observe, collaborate and create ART. Inspired by the popular children’s book The Big Orange Splot by Daniel Pinkwater, this art spot is a place where art looks like “all of your dreams”, you can be free to “flip your wigs/lose your marbles/knot your noodles”, and you don’t’ have to paint “neat street” or do anything by the book.
