Jim Palmer is one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history.  In an incredible 20 year career with the Baltimore Orioles (1962-1984) he earned 268 major league wins, 6 All Star appearances, 3 World Series Championships, 3 American League Pitcher of the Year Awards, and 3 Cy Young awards.  He pitched a no hitter in 1969.  His number (22) was retired by the Baltimore Orioles.  In 1990 he was voted in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
