Believe it or not, Surly Brewing Company started with a brewing kit. In 1994, Surly owner Omar Ansari received a homebrew kit as a gift. Purchased from St. Paul's legendary Northern Brewer, it became the gift that keeps on giving. Now, 18 years later, this popular craft brewery based in Brooklyn Center makes a wide variety of year round, specialty and seasonal beers.
