Description
This etching simply entitled "Fan" was created by local printmaker Stacy Frank.
She used a technique called 'drypoint' where hundreds of lines were hand-etched with a steel scribe into a copper plate. The plate was then inked with a warm black oil-based ink, the artist wiped the ink into the lines then cleaned off the residual ink before placing a clean sheet of 100% cotton archival BFK Rives printing paper atop the inked plate. Both the paper and plate were then sent through a large etching press which pushed the paper into the inked lines creating the image.
Matted 5" x 5" print in a black wood 9" x 9" frame, wired and ready to hang.
