Our project is inspired by the murals of local artist/teacher Kathleen Crocetti.  We made a stained glass mosaic rectangular coffee table top for a mid century Danish modern rosewood base.  Each student laid out a design, inspired by Spring and the Branches to Wings theme, on a sheet of 6" x 6" contact paper.  The parent helpers flipped the layouts and glued them to a prepared plywood table top in a grid pattern.  Parent helpers and students worked together to grout and seal the table.  The custom table top, made by a parent helper, has wood trim painted a dark neutral color in a gloss paint.  The new mosaic table top  is attached to a mid century solid rosewood Danish modern coffee table base!
