Description
Our project was based on the vintage craft of “decoupage.” The word "decoupage" comes from the French word "decouper," which means to cut. It's a craft that entails pasting cut-out paper designs to an object.
Our 3rd graders drew and painted pictures that represented how they like to celebrate the coming of Spring here in Santa Cruz. Watching out for birds, seeing the trees bud, going surfing, and spending more time at the beach. Once their pictures were done, the children laid out scenes and patterns with the pictures and glued them to a variety of trays and picture frames. Then, after many coats of protective acrylic were added, Voila! we have whimsical pieces of art!
