Description

This classic Cabernet will enchant your next dinner party!

The 2004 Alexander Valley Cab from Silver Oak blends fruit from several different vineyards and ages them for 25 months in a combination of 50% new and 50% once-used American oak barrels. It's a fruit-driven wine that showcases Silver Oak's winemaking abilities even when the vintage presents challenges. Crimson-colored with a bouquet redolent of wild flowers, cola, blackberries and anise. The wine is full of sweet, juicy fruit on the attack that's full mid-palate and framed by lots of oak spice. Decant before drinking now or hold for 5-7 years. According to Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red. Redcurrant, tobacco and fresh herbs on the nose, along with pepper and pungent American oak scents (50% new). Supple on entry, then a bit dry and leafy in the middle, with a green streak partly hidden by exotic oak. Finishes with rather dry tannins..."
