Eddie Aikau signed contest print is signed by every invitee (it's invite only- the world's best big wave waterman in the world.). The contest period is for 3 months every winter and when the waves are huge and perfect they call the contest with 24 hour notice to get to Waimea Bay. The contest rarely actually goes off because they will only do it in perfect heavy conditions. It's been run 8 times in 27 years. Every year there is a special opening ceremony to honor Eddie and his family and all the surfers are there and paddle out and luau.... This is ONE of only 6 here in the US that exists.
