At first glance, one notices the textural elements and elegant composition of this quilt—dark silhouettes of each Teddy Bear floating over the realistic pool of rocks. Upon further reflection, one cannot help but recall Aesop’s tale of the Crow and the Pitcher and wonder if this lesson doesn’t in fact capture the entire essence of the quilt-making endeavors at CDS. For the thirsty Crow, after carefully and diligently adding rocks one at a time, did finally reap his reward—a drink of water. And Ms. Candy’s class, with each small but important step, brings this important lesson into the forefront of our joint endeavor—that little by little we can all accomplish anything.
