Description
Just like real scientists, the Redwoods spent several weeks studying seeds. The children looked at a variety of seeds, making careful observations. They even opened seeds that had been soaked in water overnight to see what was inside. They learned that inside every seed, there is a tiny plant that has the potential to grow. This discovery led to a question: what helps this tiny plant grow? With the help of a few experiments and reading lots of books about seeds and plants, the children learned that seeds need water, good soil, and sunlight to grow. This cheerful quilt depicts a healthy garden with all of the elements needed to produce flourishing plants -- an apt metaphor for our school community.
