This auction lot includes THREE MAGNUMS of Baker Lane--two bottle of 2007 Ramondo Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir AND one bottle of 2006 Sonoma Coast Estate Syrah.

World renown wine writer Stephen Tanzer has an affinity for both wines. Of the Pinot, "Spicy redcurrant and strawberry on the nose, with sexy floral and mineral qualities adding complexity. Musky cherry and red berry flavors are given spine by juicy acidity and fine-grained tannins, which add back-end grip."

Tanzer likened the Syrah to a Cote Rotie from the Northern Rhone Valley. Translation: Dark, meaty, smoky, and peppery with specatacular savory components complemented by lavender and violet. Invite some friends for dinner, and open this with roasted leg of lamb.

These wines are worthy of a spot in the cellar.
