FROM PAGE TO STAGE

A playwright puts pen to paper, and thus begins the epic and fantastical journey of a new play to the stage.  Like any good quest for greatness—see Homer’s Odyssey, Lord of the Rings, or Monty Python—there are twists and turns, shining moments, and the occasional pitfall along the way.  But, hopefully it ends with a lucky playwright watching as the lights go down and curtain up on their opening night at a great theater like Playwrights Horizons. Join PH’s Literary Department on their quest to bring new plays to the stage, beginning with a lesson in analytical play reading and evaluation, then on to a play reading alongside Director of New Play Development Adam Greenfield, and culminating in a staff meeting to show off your new literary chops with the pros.  This experience is the Holy Grail for theater lovers.
