Tennessee Williams’ steamy play is a timeless classic.  But that doesn’t mean it can’t benefit from something new.  This hot revival of A Streetcar Named Desire is the first Broadway production featuring African-American actors in the lead roles.  Blair Underwood (In Treatment, The Event) stars as Stanley, and his performance is sure to wipe away memories of a bellowing Brando.  Nicole Ari Parker (Soul Food) co-stars as the lovely, deluded Blanche DuBois, with Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent) as her sister Stella and Wood Harris (The Wire) as her gentleman caller.  The play runs from May 1 – July 22 at the Broadhurst Theater, and your winning bid gets you two house seats, so close you’ll practically feel the heat wave sweeping New Orleans.
