Charlotte Von Mahlsdorf was one complicated lady.  Still she made a fascinating character study when Doug Wright wrote his Pulitzer Prize winning, one-man play about the German transvestite based on conversations he had with von Mahlsdorf herself.  I Am My Own Wife premiered at Playwrights Horizons, moved to Broadway and has been performed in scores of productions around the world.  Actor Jefferson Mays won Tony, Drama Desk and Obie Awards for his performance.  Get a little piece of theater history with this poster from the Broadway production and original Playwrights Horizons Playbill, signed by playwright Doug Wright from the productions of I Am My Own Wife.
