Description
In a new twist to the Menlo parent education concept, three Menlo parents bring you a Sunday evening of delicious BBQ, fine wines and a stimulating discussion on a topic relevant to all of us -- parenting our parents.
Rita Ghatak, Director of Aging Adult Services at Stanford Medical Center, will lead an engaging and informative discussion about caring for your parents as they age. The wide ranging discussion will include topics such as navigating the health care system; establishing care from another state; sharing care with your siblings; how to talk about supported living and downsizing; developing a continuum of care for your parent; and how to develop coping skills to care for parents with alzheimer's, dementia and other health care needs.
You will learn helpful strategies to better navigate the complexity of caring for your aging parent -- all while enjoying the company of other Menlo parents, a tasty BBQ dinner in beautiful Woodside and excellent wines.
