Jonathan Henry Jay (born March 15, 1985) is an outfielder who plays for the St. Louis Cardinals. He played college baseball at the University of Miami.  He was drafted by the Cardinals out of the University of Miami in the second round (74th overall) of the 2006 MLB Draft.^[1] Jay played high school baseball at Christopher Columbus Senior High School in Miami, Florida, where he won the state championship his senior year.

Jon Jay is the Center fielder of the Cardinals. During the 2011 season, he played 169 games, the most of any Cardinal that year. He has proven himself both at the plate where his career batting average is .300 and in the field. During the post season of 2012, Jay has made some remarkable game saving plays in Centerfield.
