Christopher Ralph Perez (born July 1, 1985) is a right-handed closer for the Cleveland Indians. His pitches have been clocked at 98 mph on the radar gun.^[1] He is 6' 4", 225 lbs. In 2010, fans began referring to him by the nickname "Pure Rage."

Perez grew up on Anna Maria Island with his father, Tim Perez, in Florida. Perez pitched for the University of Miami Hurricanes. He was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round (42nd overall) of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft.

He has twice been selected as an All Star, both in 2011 and 2012. In 2012 he ended the year with 39 saves out of 43 opportunities and an ERA of 3.59 for the Cleveland Indians.
