One week rental in the Guest House (Nest of Love) and the Studio at La Blanchière.

La Blanchière is conveniently located between the towns of Chinon and Saumur in the Loire Valley near the Abbey of Fontevraud . Within 20 minutes you can find yourself in the medieval town of Chinon - the site of Joan of Arc's historic meeting in the château with Charles VII in 1492 or in the town of Saumur - home of the famous Cadre Noir horse show, Ecole Nationale d'Equitation and château. Chinon and Saumur offer more extensive shopping, supermarkets, cafés, bistros and several Michelin starred restaurants.

La Blanchière is lost in time - in a valley surrounded by fields of sunflowers, corn, wheat and vineyards. Nothing obstructs your view of the sun rising and setting along the horizon. This peaceful setting provides the perfect place to relax. Read a book, write, sketch or paint. Take an early morning walk or an afternoon bike ride.

If you must leave this magical valley, the village of Fontevraud is less than 10 minutes away. Visit the 900 year old Abbey of Fontevraud which is now the Cultural Center of the Western Loire Valley. You will also find a wonderful Boulangerie/Patisserie (bakery), Charcuterie (butcher), a General Store as well as small shops, cafés and the Michelin starred restaurant, La Licorne. Further down the road along the bank of the Loire River enjoy the outdoor Sunday market and once a month brocante (antique market) in the village of Montsoreau.

The Guest House (Nest of Love) and the Studio is also built using the limestone of the region taken from the caves on the property. It is not the dressed limestone of the house but pieces of limestone which offer a different type of texture. The roof is slate which is typical of the region. The stone walls, tile floors and oak beams were all added or restored and are left exposed. The windows offer an abundance of light and incredible views of the valley. Both the Guest House and Studio are heated with an electric floor heating system.  The Guest House sleeps two.  The Studio is attached to the Guest House but with a private entrance. It is a small room which includes a simple bathroom with an open shower. The Studio can be used as a separate bedroom, an enclosed terrace or studio to begin your artistic endeavors. It is full of light as there are as many windows as walls. One adult or two children can sleep in the Studio.
