Pair of tickets for May 20th, 2012, 3pm performance of the internationally renowned Bamberg Symphony Orchestra at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. This unique symphony orchestra was formed in 1946, is based in the medieval Bavarian town of Bamberg, and gives more than 100 performances annually, including many on tour in Germany and abroad. In 2010, the orchestra's recording of Mahler's ninth symphony was voted best orchestral recording of the year at the prestigious Midem industry trade fair in Cannes. The program on May 20th will feature works by Webern, Five Pieces, Op. 10, Schubert, Symphony No. 4 ('Tragic'), and Brahms, Piano Concerto No. 2, with Christian Zacharias, pianist, and the 'astute and exciting' conductor, Jonathan Nott (The New York Times).
