Christine Markatos Design, a residential design studio, was founded in 2005 by Christine Markatos Lowe. Christine’s aesthetic is best described as an imaginative union of modern and classical influences where elegant rooms are enlivened with a fresh mixture of pattern, color and texture. Having trained in drawing, sculpture and printmaking, Christine brings a unique artistic perspective to each interior she designs. Her passion for detail is showcased in sophisticated spaces customized to enhance her clients’ lifestyles.

Prior to starting her practice, Christine spent twelve years working for top-tier design firms across the country. Christine’s work experience included a position as a Junior Designer with Peter Marino Architect, a Senior Designer with decorator Michael S. Smith and as an Associate Design Principal with The Wiseman Group. The influence of these mentors, her artistic training and continual study of the decorative arts informs her distinctive point of view.

Current projects include residences in New York, Southern California and Hawaii. The studio is comprised of a select team of designers and architects that Christine guides to execute her vision through a worldwide network of craftspeople. She and her team are committed to client service and professional collaboration while creating beautiful interiors.

Christine received her B.A. in Studio Art from Trinity College and an M.F.A in Sculpture from the Art and Architecture School at the University of Pennsylvania.
