This Orvis "break-down" fly rod has been in the same family since new, has rarely been used, and has been in storage since 1978. It is in pristine condition. While Orvis does not provide antique rod appraisals, they do recommend Carmine Lisella at Jordan-Mills Rod Co as a reputable vintage tackle dealer for establishing value. After conferring with Carmine, he indicated that this particular rod series is indeed rare because it represents one of only a small number of 3 section, break-down rods that were manufactured and sold with two tips. This package also includes the original "spun aluminum" carrying case containing the Orvis authentication  information.
