This magnificent volunteer community arts organization, Dakota Valley Symphony has served Minnesota’s Dakota County since 1986.
 
During this time, concerts have been performed in parks, churches, schools, community centers and other public buildings throughout Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Hastings, Lakeville, Prior Lake and Saint Paul. The Symphony is now proud to call the Burnsville Performing Arts Center it's permenant home.
 
The organization was created to provide an opportunity for dedicated and skilled volunteer musicians to join together to perform and promote diverse symphonic musical experiences of all periods and styles for residents of the south suburban Twin Cities area. And, the group also provides a forum for aspiring local composers to premiere their work.
 
The symphony is comprised of a 60-member symphony orchestra, a 40-member mixed chorus and a 90-member Summer Pops orchestra and chorus, all under the direction of founder and music director Stephen J. Ramsey
