Description

GDS students and teachers combine forces to ensure the most artistic and efficient tree-planting for your yard. Perry Degener (7th grade English and 8th grade history teacher) will be the digger and the planter of the tree. He will choose, purchase, transport, and plant a 10-gallon fruit tree replete with poetic accompaniments, on a mutually convenient day in April 2012. GDS master gardeners will provide him with expert planting advice (amount of fertilizer and peat moss, size of hole, height of tree ball in relation to surrounding soil, etc.). Also, GDS faculty will provide Perry with advance stretching exercises, ensuring that he will be stretched and limber for the digging in June. Seventh grade poets will provide haiku poems that Perry will hang on the tree branches, ensuring a pleasing aura for the newly planted tree.
