GDS HS history and English teacher Paul Bolstad will lead 6 to 10 adults on a guided tour of the exhibits of the Smithsonian Institution Udvar-Hazy center on Saturday, June 2, 10 a.m. to noon. The tour will focus on connections between speculative imagination about flight and the design and technology of "flying machines" from the Balloons of the Siege of Paris to the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles of the 21st Century, using anecdotes about specific exhibits of the museum as object examples. Supplemental background reading will be provided before the tour, with plenty of time for discussion and questions as the group works its way through the museumand the history of flight.
