A KSC Visitor Complex guided tour for two (2) of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle’s Factory of the Future; located in the Operations and Checkout (O&C) Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. The guests will meet with Jim Kemp, Lockheed Martin’s Director of Assembly, Test & Operations. The O&C, originally built to receive the moon-bound Apollo spacecraft, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. A recent $55 million restoration transformed the O&C into a state-of-art manufacturing facility. The Orion spacecraft will be assembled, integrated and tested at this facility in preparation for its inaugural unmanned flight test in early 2014.
