A kitty lover donated this beautiful amethyst gemstone, ready to put in a setting. It is about 16.5 mm in length. It comes with a Certificate of Appraisal that states it is "7.91 carats, refractive index 1.544-1.553, double refraction +0.009, dispersion 0.031, MOHS Hardness 7.00, Specific Gravity 2.63-2.65".
It is a pretty lilac color with no obvious inclusions.
Special Instructions
It is difficult to come up with a value for this stone. A jewel and gold purchaser told us it was worth $200 -$400 (wide range, I know).
