I guess I would call this rocker vintage because it is obviously old. I think it is made of maple. It is very solid with no loose joining. It is is very good shape but personally, I would replace the seat cushion. It is small - 30" from the rocker to the top of the back. I would put it in a bedroom or a child's room. Even though it is small it is comfortable for  a big girl like me.
