Description
Bid for an original artwork by RT Vegas 'The Fashion Show'.
RT Vegas' work is complex yet simple. It can be classified in the outsider art genre, but contains many elements of art brut, graffiti, abstract, pop art and cartoon illustration. He likes working with mixed media and will paint on most anything. His subject matter includes cartoon figures, monsters, tribal folk, animals, mythological beasts and anything else that pops into my mind. He has been influenced by many artists including Norman Saunders, Paul Gauguin, Basil Wolverton, R. Crumb, Kenny Scharf, Keith Haring and modern graffiti artists.
RT Vegas...born Arthur Heinzinger in 1958, in White Plains, New York. His interest in art started with his first purchase of "Wacky Packs" in the 1960's featuring the art of Norman Saunders. After a stint in the Army he co-founded the New York based punk rock band THE IMPOSTORS in 1978. At this time, he adopted RT Vegas as a stage name. He has been active in the local New York music scene, art shows and theatre throughout the 80's and 90's. At the start of 2006, RT Vegas began a full time commitment to his art, inspired due to wide exposure and positive feedback received via the Internet.
