Description

Four-night stay at a charming cottage on beautiful Monhegan Island. Nestled in a quiet cove with a breathtaking view of the open ocean, relax on one of the three decks and follow the sun from sunrise to sunset. A haven for artists, lobstermen, poets, and coastal wildlife enthusiasts for generations, the island offers 17 miles of walking trails, ranging from family-friendly to rugged, through protected forest and out to the tallest headlands in Maine. The unpaved road through town offers two restaurants, a pizza parlor, two cafes, a village store, and several shops, then meanders up Lighthouse Hill to a superb island and natural history museum.

The cottage sleeps 5, including one queen-bed room, one twin-bed room, and a daybed on the sunporch, all with ocean views. The quaint kitchen, described by a former artist as “the most romantic on the island,” has everything you need plus a modern outdoor grill. The cottage is unheated, but if the weather is cool, you can curl up with a book by the living-room fireplace; free firewood is provided.

A wonderful retreat from the world’s madness to be with family and friends, or just a respite for yourself.

This is a Live Event Item.
