Kevin Smith is an artist based in Maine, specializing in Maine scenes, lighthouses, and other coastal landscapes. Kevin explains his technique: "I begin each piece by breaking down the subject into basic lights and darks, lights and shadows. Then I analyze how the two work together to capture life's vibrancy. I love the way that the water disperses the paint and captures the mood of the piece when I pour it on the paper. Since yellows and reds are some of the most vibrant colors and peoples' eyes are drawn to them immediately I use those two primaries to capture the light in each piece."
