All Hofner bass guitars have a hollow body design which gives a distinctive deep, warm woody sound.  The arched tops are constructed from selected German Spruce, the back and sides from selected European Flamed Maple.   The necks are handcrafted from maple or maple/beech/maple design.  Scale length is 30” with 1.625” nut width. Frets are made in Germany from extra durable alloy, rosewood fingerboards, and an ebony bridge with movable metal saddles.  This is the same type of guitar that Paul McCartney plays.
