Shaun McNiff has exhibited his art since the late 1960s when he studied painting with the abstract expressionist master Theodoros Stamos in New York.

As the founder of the expressive arts therapies field he lectures and shows his art throughout the world. McNiff’s life work is freeing the artist in every person as documented in his many books that include: Art Heals: How Creativity Cures the Soul; Trust the Process: An Artist’s Guide to Letting Go; and Art as Medicine. He lives in Annisquam and is represented by The Jane Deering Gallery. In 2002 he became the first University Professor at Lesley University in Cambridge.
