Denver native Rayna Wandel attended the University of Colorado at Denver, where she began to see her potential as a serious artist. She earned a degree at the University of Denver in Art History. During her years at DU she earned numerous accolades and honors. Rayna has been commissioned by private patrons to design paintings specifically for their living spaces. Her mask is dedicated to the memory of her grandmother who passed in hospice care in 2003. The mask is a "Homage to Britto." Brazilian artist Romero Britto, one of today's most famous contemporary pop artists has played a big influence in Rayna's art. The mask emulates Carnival time in Brazil.
