Description
Pauline Savage has spent a lifetime mastering multiple media in order to articulate her vision in a body of work that includes paintings, drawings and sculptures. In 2005, Pauline moved Savage Design Studio from Seattle to Littleton, Co. Her mask, Sisters, is reminiscent of Cloisonne, with its visual texture, rich jewel tones and copper leading. The planes of color are miniscule pieces of rock but with a deep resin surface. With a hint of homage to Picasso, "Sisters" suggests facets of a woman, of sisters and, finally, the ancient mysteries of sisterhood.
