Denver artist Kaye Hurtt is a a volunteer with The Denver Hospice. She was classically-trained in botanical art at the Denver Botanic Gardens and her botanical watercolor paintings are in private collections across North America.

Her work can be viewed at www.kayehurtt.com. Her mask, Head in the Clouds, has two interpretations. The mask can represent the whimsical notion of letting the beauty of life take one away into the clouds. Or, a deeper interpretation involves the notion of a sublime transition between our earthly life and the next. "I believe it to be the goal of The Denver Hospice to assist in making that transition as comfortable as possible," says the artist.
