Description
Karen Roehl earned her BFA from CU Denver and is a practicing artist in Denver with a studio at the Dry Ice Factory in the RiNo Arts District. She is a founding member of the Ice Cube Gallery and is represented by Walker Fine Art. Her abstract paintings, many of which are mural scale, are part of numerous collections both locally and nationwide. The paintings of Modigliani were one of Roehl's earliest inspirations. The artists of the early 20th century and creative spirit of the time served as Roehl's muse. Roehl's mask, "Modigliani Girl", is a tribute to Modigliani, marking Roehl's entry point into her personal artistic journey. Roehl is indeed a self-proclaimed Modigliani girl.
