This beacon marks the northern portal of the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary, which is located in Santa Cruz, CA. Also home to the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, the famous landmark has effectively renamed Point Santa Cruz, so it is now known by all as Lighthouse Point.
