(1) Hour Private Tennis Lesson with Kim Funk

Kim Stephens Funk, who lives in Encinitas, Calif., teaches tennis on a private court in Del Mar.

Kim is a 20-year member of USPTA. She served as the San Diego Division secretary in 1993, 1994 and 1995; vice president for the USPTA in the city of San Diego in 1996, and president, 1997, 1998 and 1999; and moved up to regional vice president for the division in 2000. She also was named San Diego Division Pro of the Year in 2000. That same year, she served on the national nominating committee.

Also a member of the USTA, Kim was named San Diego Section Female Pro of the Year in 1999. She is certified by the PTR as well.

Kim started teaching tennis out of high school in 1982. “I enjoyed the game and was offered an opportunity to teach,” she says. She also played Division I college tennis and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education.
