Description

This fabulous offering is for a one-week stay on the Sea of Cortez in the Cabo Pulmo area that lies in the middle of the new Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park (http://www.cabopulmopark.com/thepark.html). Cabo Pulmo is a year round recreation area: amazing beaches and reefs, surfing in the summer and fall, year-round bird watching, world class scuba diving and snorkeling on the only coral reef on the west coast of North and South America, deep-sea and ocean fly-fishing, SUP, wind-surfing, boating, kayaking, desert hiking, biking, and superb beach combing.

This property is located within the Cabo Pulmo beach resort that lies in the heart of a new Mexican National Park. This area of the East Cape is serviced for the last 9 miles by a dirt road and while very comfortable, is “off the grid”. Water is from a local fresh well and all power is by solar or propane. No cell phone service is available. Internet is available in the vicinity by paid day usage. This privately owned home/compound sleeps 12 people in 3 lava-rock and tile, palapa covered buildings and is situated 50 feet from the beach on a beautifully landscaped 1/2 acre lot. The house’s are fully equipped for family and small group living with outdoor patios and furniture, dining areas,  full kitchens, solar powered electricity, hot and cold water, in and outdoor showers, fans, netting, and grass lawn. The sea around this area holds one of the most diverse ecological systems in the world and is a true wonder:http://newswatch.nationalgeographic.com/2012

The Cabo Pulmo is located 90 minutes north of the San Jose del Cabo (SJD) Airport on the Sea of Cortez, The Cabo Pulmo area was originally occupied by the Pericu’ People who occupied the lower Baja peninsula for 10,000 years. There are still Pericu communities in the mountainous areas of the region. The caves in the mountains around CP are said to contain woven burial sacks containing the bones of these natives. Once part of a larger pearl diving area the reef and beach is also briefly described in Steinbeck’s naturalist travelogue; The Log from the Sea of Cortez.
