Description

Late Victorian/ Art Nouveau copper with silver-plate buckle, fused in the back to become a pendant. This buckle/pendant is very ornate, with ornamental chasing in the background and applied silver scrolls, harps and flowers. Each flower has a prong set blue paste stone at the center.  The buckle face originally had gold leaf accents along the ridges and borders of the applied silver and although some is lost there is still quite a bit of gold leaf on the vines and borders. Hangs from a heavy sterling silver chain.

Circa 1890-1910.
