Artist Information

Born in Maine, Shelbee moved to Taos, New Mexico in the early 90′s.  In 1997 she was honored with the “People’s Choice Award."  In 2002 she was recognized as the official “Spring Arts Poster Artist”.  In 2008 she won “Second Place” in the “Toast of Taos” competition.

Shelbee is known for her distinctive mixed media painting. With use of mixed mediums and various glazing techniques, Shelbee creates work that inspires one to look beyond what is seen- to capture not only form but the essence behind the simple narrative.
